Benjamin Smet (OPEN) Interview with Dr. Barnali Dixon and Dr. Rebecca Johns (iCAR Conference), Catalyst, Nov. 7, 2018
Last week, the University of South Florida – St. Petersburg hosted the fourth Initiative on Coastal Adaptation and Resilience (iCAR) conference. The conference was born out of the World Bank 2013 report, 10 Coastal Cities at Greatest Flood Risk as Sea Levels Rise. That study revealed Tampa as the #7 city globally at highest risk for flooding due to sea level rise.
Prior to the conference, Dr. Barnali Dixon and Dr. Rebecca Johns, both of University of South Florida, St. Petersburg spoke with the Open Partnership Education Network (OPEN)‘s Benjamin Smet about the origin of iCAR, how the collaboration between Dr. Johns and Dr. Dixon began, and how the climate change discussion has evolved to include social and economic issues throughout the years.
