It’s time for actions that protect coastal communities from flooding. It’s far better to protect than recover, and far cheaper.

Flooding statistics are alarming. In Florida sea-level rise has increased high-tide flooding by 400 percent in the past 10 years, while the speed of sea-level rise has tripled. This same sea-level rise raised the storm surge of Hurricane Irma 8 inches higher than it would have been in 1950, when the sea was lower.
